Special Building for Preserving Old Quran Copies Planned in Pakistan’s Peshawar

IQNA –  A special building called Holy Quran Mahal (place) is planned to be constructed in Peshawar, Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, to preserve the old copies of Holy Quran.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to build it. 

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur has directed the Peshawar Development Authority to provide a suitable plot for this purpose.

He further directed that the proposed Quran Mahal should be a masterpiece of Islamic architecture, adding that the copies, pages of the Quran from across the province would be preserved in the above mentioned Quran Mahal.

He was chairing the first meeting of the Awqaf Department, held here at Chief Minister House on Friday. Provincial Minister for Awqaf, Adnan Qadri, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Amjad Ali Khan, Secretary Awqaf and other relevant officials attended the meeting.

The Chief Minister on this occasion was briefed about the administrative and financial matters of the department, lease policy of the Awqaf’s properties and other important matters.
